About the programme

Dr.Robert Boland, ex Harvard, is an astonishing man (click here for bio).

He taught finance at Columbia as well as INSEAD and he was the founder and Director of the Graduate School of Business in Cape Town as well as the Engineering Management Programme at Cranfield.

In this programe he makes every building block so easy to understand that without effort a student of average ability rapidly goes from nowhere to reading Profit and Loss Accounts, Balance Sheets, assessment of an organisation's financial health and so much more. It's so remarkable because it can be done in 24 four hours of study.

Our core business

Now LTM has translated the original AGL methodology into digital format. It's the same vital programme as before but accessible to anyone with an internet connection who is willing to work alone. We'll hold your hand (by e'mail and telephone) should there ever be a moment of doubt or need. The joy of learning this way allows you to go at your own pace, two twelve hour days, three eight hour days or twenty four one-hour days, carve it up anyway you want. Just be certain to take each step in its turn- more haste is less speed.

The new programme uses our proprietory system called Autonomous Programmed Learning (APL).

Our core business is management education. APL is probably the most effective learning method available. Let's face it, most "finance for non-financial managers" courses are dull and de-motivating. Ours is fun and easy. But more crucially it's FAST.

Autonomous Programmed Learning (APL) is a system of development, and as such differs considerably from conventional methods of training. It's designed to achieve rapid individual learning using special materials in a specific learning cycle without formal "teaching". Students use the materials to find the answers to all problems and questions.

The programme provides the full cycle of pre-learning, learning and learning maintenance activity.

APL combines programmed learning, case analysis, lectures and study material in a completely automated and controlled audio/visual environment which guarantees consistent quality each time.

In the APL System, each new point introduced is tested in a problem solving exercise, reinforced, and completely assimilated before progressing to other new material. There is continuous feedback and monitoring in the learning process which ensures that skills are acquired, rather than simply being considered and only partially understood, as is frequently the case with other management training methods.

We guarantee measurable learning; knowledge retention, and knowledge application
